Wolfgang Weissler, Ředitel průmyslových divizí Digital Factory a Process Industries and Drives, Siemens ČR
Wolfgang Weissler started working for Siemens in 1986, right after graduating from University Erlangen as Electrical Engineer in Drives Technology. His first stint was the service and commissioning engineer for variable speed drives. During this time Wolfgang Weissler had his first contacts to Czech – one of his jobs was to commission a textile machine in Svitavy town.
After that Weissler joined the area of drives for machine tools as product manager. He stayed there in different roles until the mid 90ies. Firstly as head of automation for textile machines, later heading the business of automation for metal forming machines, adding automation knowledge to his so far drives dominated portfolio.
In 2002 Wolfgang Weissler joined Large Drives division in Nuremberg. With the acquisition of the US manufacturer of medium voltage drives Robicon, he moved to Pittsburgh, USA, heading the integration of it’s global sales activities into Siemens in America. After Large Drives had also bought Robicon’s Australian representative, Emsby, Weissler moved to Australia in 2007.
Wolfgang Weissler returned to the Siemens headquarter in Nuremberg in 2011 to lead Large Drive’s business development for India, Africa and the Near Middle East until end of September 2012 which opened the path for his delegation to India. Until end September 2014, he was in charge of India business. Since October 2014 his responsibility is the divisions Digital Factory & Process Industries and Drives in the Czech Republic.
